Let the Hiatus End!

A big thank you to Blogger for letting me know that my last post was over 2 months ago! I am quite aware of my abandonment of the blog and assure you there are at least 2 good reasons that I will mention momentarily.

I'll start with most recent and work backwards.
1.

Well we've had several life changing events occur in these past 2 months. My wonderful husband was generally unhappy with his post at a certain company and has since found an exceedingly more satisfactory position at a closer, smaller, more family-friendly company. I am so proud of him for his respectful and overall classy manner of leaving his old job and for his determination to make it a good, seamless transition , though he left many friends behind.
2.

At the beginning of December, my grandma, G-ma M.P., was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She immediately began receiving radiation treatments in hopes of shrinking and getting rid of the tumor. She's since completed these treatments but has yet to return to a state of normalcy. We all hope she will go back to being the independent, saucy, ever-present grandma that she's always been. This of course is in God's mighty hands. The results of her pet scan will be given this Tuesday so we are praying for a clear scan and a positive prognosis.
3.

Right after Thanksgiving, the long-anticipated kitchen remodel began. Our kitchen was emptied with its unbelievable amount of crap dispersed throughout the house. The fridge and giant Ikea cabinet (dumbest purchase of our lives) were relocated to the dining room.

The dining room table went to the living room and thus our loft/apartment style life commenced.

The end is now somewhere near but I feel like I've been living like a college student for eternity. Luckily, the workers are darlings who, over the holiday, listened to Christmas music and have very nice manners. The process has been almost entirely positive and I'm so grateful to have an almost finished kitchen to perhaps cook in.

Which brings me to the crowning jewel. The Big Kahuna of great excuses. Be prepared for mind blowing craziness....

Max is still in shock since we got this little sono done about 6 weeks ago...

They look tiny but they are mighty and have taken this house by force before even breathing oxygen.

Yep.

Two babies.

The sonogram is at about 6 weeks. To say that we've been blown away since then is an understatement. Waves of excitement and "HOLY CROW! How on earth are we going to handle this?" have come and gone and now we rest in the mind-blown stage of  "We'll see what happens."

So on to my excuse. I'm having twins. The "morning" sickness makes me hate the things I used to enjoy: eating, shopping, leaving the house, dressing, showering, etc. My new favorite pastimes are exploring different corners of the 3 couches in our house and crawling back in to bed as soon as Kelby walks in the door.

Kelby is an angel from God. He's lost weight despite eating out 2 meals a day and he puts up with my endless complaints of "that makes me want to puke." Though he has the mindset that we'll be bunkering down in July (when our babes come), he has been wonderful through all the downs and downs of this sickly pregnancy. Upon realizing that the 12 week mark generally means the end of this is near, Kelby let out an exhausted sigh of relief followed by, "That's good. Poor Christine has been so sick." How did I get so blessed?

And there you have it. Lots to share. Lots more to come. Your prayers are ever so appreciated!

Christine
