Now she's here, Zelie da starlight

Max's favorite Disney movie is unabashedly "Tangled." In our home it's more affectionately known as "Shingled." I'm convincing myself that it's not weird that he loves that movie because it's just like any other Disney movie that perfectly normal boys have liked before. Long story longer, there's a song in it that Max has adapted his own lyrics to which gives us the post title.

Because poor Zelie's life is purty much undocumented until this point, I thought I'd do a little, quick month-by-month of her since that's still not ridiculous seeming at a wee 5 months old.

I consider this a "bow necessary" picture since her lack of concern for public nudity and less than appealing facial expression don't exactly impart the ladylike image I would like to see in my daughter.
At one month she was, um, eating and pooping and never sleeping anywhere but in her swing, in my arms, or in the ever dangerous location formerly known as "our bed." The co-sleeper bought in a panic when she was brand new happily served as the other diaper depot.

Aunt Annie says this is the face only a mother could love. There must be something wrong with her because I'm pretty sure this picture beats 1 month by leaps and bounds hence the lack of bow.
At two months, Zelie could clearly smile and coo. Her sleeping habits remained just as helpful as the previous month though she started showing her laid-back side quite a bit more. From the start, she has amazed me at how different she is from Max. She is her momma's daughter with little to no gray area. Happy and relaxed one second, collapsed on a chaise lounge the next in a "end of life" disaster crying spell. She came with us to Oklahoma City for a Dave Ramsey event this month and is already planned out how she's going to fund her own college tuition.

Slight sign of balding. Obvious attempt at concealment by giant pink bow.
Let the good times drool! She has an impressive amount of saliva to expel and she does it at quite a speed. Her shirts look like she's just run a marathon with "sweat" down to her cloth diaper.

Developing a sense of privacy. "Mom! Could you please take pictures of me when I'm clothed?"
Her four month appointment (err a little more like 4 and a 1/2) taught us that she is 25% in weight and 95% in height. For her sake, I hope she stays on this track. I am have been on the opposite side of the tracks. Not so fun.

Like my nifty month-by-month tags? sooo creative.
The child just won't stop growing! 5 months and she's rolling over, laughing, attacking water glasses, rockin' a side pony, and working on her first teeth. Want to know how I can tell she's getting sleepy? She gets in a laughing fit. Then I just put her in a tight hold and she laugh/talks herself to sleep. You'd think I'd find nothing to complain about ever. ha. You know me. ha ha.

And so the princess has pretty much established permanent and mandatory residence in our house and hearts. Max named her well. She is "da starlight."
