Max makes sure that he's not ignored.
Zelie does get a good share of the attention but Max, now having perfected the "escuse me, MOM" phrase, has the imagination of a cartoonist. Aside from being slightly obsessed with all things weaponry (WHERE DID I GO WRONG?!), he sees dragons, lions, birds, horses, etc. in every nook and cranny of this house. He's also become pretty self sufficient. No, he does not dress himself yet, but he'll drag a chair or stool to any light switch...including mine...in the morning...when I'm still sleeping. Needless to say, this form of independence, I could certainly do without.
I heard him caw-cawing in the kitchen the other day and went in to investigate. Flapping his arms and still cawing, he pointed me to the below figure.
My first reaction was annoyance. Why do you have to take those off the ring?
Then my proud mother moment came. He created a bird!
Following the proud mother's instinct, I ran to retrieve my camera at which time I hear him call me back in for a new creation.
A Nutcracker.
Ok maybe you're rolling your eyes but this proud mama has since lifted the restrictions on the baking utensils drawer just in case he decides to show his 2 year old genius again. Love this kid.
On to Bells.
Her hair be all sorts o' crazy after a nap.
So she's not technically sitting up, but if I wedge her music box into just the right posish, she'll lean forward and try to eat it and make me believe for enough time to take a picture that she may be on her way to sitting. We'll see.
And despite my best efforts not to give her any food until 6 months, this girl has been demanding food with her eyes and mouth for the past month. I had to give in. She loved it.
Boo hoo.
Looks like she'll grow up after all.
