There's no turning back for us now. He won't just doze off to sleep after 2 minutes of nursing or lay cuddled in a swaddling blanket in my arms or even sit still for any matter of time anymore.
Now he'll pull things off shelves. He'll make phone calls to China on accident because I caved and let him play with the house phone. He'll stand up in his crib and protest his entrapment until I lose my backbone and beg for forgiveness and swear to never try to make him sleep again. He'll come crawling to me while I'm cooking breakfast and give me the goose bumps as he uses his frigid hands to pull himself up my leg. He'll find something perfectly unfun and turn it into the best toy of 2011. He'll turn a bad day into a barrel of laughs with his jibber jabber and runny nose that reaches his chin.
He'll break my heart one advancing milestone at a time and I'll be left to love him even more.
