As all Hickerson, and now, Umbehr family holidays/birthdays begin, my Mother's Day started with a delicious breakfast-in-bed.
Max was begging for a ickle bite of pancake.
My homemade silhouette of Max compliments of Daddy.
My Mother's Day bouquet straight from my baby's hand.
waaaaaaa... He's so precious!
Thanks Mom for making this with him!!!
After breakfast and presents, we vested in our Sunday-go-to-Meetin' clothes, took some snap shots:
and headed to Topeka!
We decided to surprise this great gal ^ for Mother's Day. We met them at 11:00 Mass at their church and I think it was a success. Grandma Barb had tears in her eyes. Max loved getting to see his grandparents and investigate their house with his new found vertical mobility. Even his great-grandma and great-grandpa Boeh and great-uncle Pat got to spend some time watching our little toddler.
And I would be remiss if I didn't extend my deepest, most sincere thanks to my mother.
Mom, you never lowered your expectations of me (even when I wished you had) and have always encouraged me to live more fully and love more deeply the faith that was given to you and the faith which you and Dad gave to me. You have shown me in many ways how to be a mother. You've humbly lived the past 25 years for your family and have demonstrated what it is to be a servant. Thank you for your example and for your daily, sometimes unsolicited, advice that continues to mold me into the person I know God wants me to be. I love you. Love, Christine
All the wonderful mothers in our family.
