and it has been a very good thing. After we get past the morning wrestle to get out of the sopping diaper and jams into our daytime clothes and have our daily bowl of oatmeal and blueberries, Max pretty much takes off and does his own thing. Occasionally he'll bring a book to me and "read" about "bordabordabord mommy daddy bor bor bord" but most of the time he's knee deep in toys in his playroom.
Yesterday was one of those necessary days when Max's self-reliance came in handy. I just couldn't part with my Jayhawk pj pants and decided that a sweatshirt would do the trick instead of a shower. So I moved from one vehicle of relaxation (bed) to another (couch) and enjoyed my latest obsession whilst Max played sweetly. I kept checking the clock hoping to be dressed and fresh for when Kelby got home for lunch around 11:30. However, my laziness got the best of me and since I had neglected to put my contacts in, Kelby was greeted by the pretty picture of me sans shower, makeup, and approp clothing, claiming that I thought it was only 10:30. Oh and by the way, welcome home.
He's ever ever ever so patient though and went ahead and made lunch for himself and Max without complaint. And when he comes home, he gets right to work playing with Max and reminding him that he does have living, loving parents.
| he procured that snack on his own. |
Max is just so gosh darn amazing and cute. The potty training is going nowhere fast as his bears (Bay) are now learning to tandem pee on the toilet meant for him. When we ask him if he'd like to go potty like Bay he says, "No thank you" (oooh dain du). He can spout random parts of the alphabet, generally starting around H and getting thrown off at P (which sounds like B and then he winds up going back to the beginning). He likes to start counting from 8 and then all the teens are "einteen." He's got a way to go before we start enrolling him in talent shows.
And I'm now in my 2nd trimester... Did that take forever in your opinion? It did in mine! Still getting sick but I've got good meds and refuse to stop taking them. In just a few weeks we can find out what brand to expect and I can't wait! Then it just might start sinking in.
This is proof that I occasionally look human. 15 weeks and counting!
BTW I promise to either update more regularly so I don't write a book each time or I'll just keep it short next time.
See you on the flip side.
Paz.
you look amazing!!!!!
