When the little is actually big

Thank you all for your words of consolation and your prayers on our behalf. They are definitely moving us each day.

Tonight little Max went to sleep extra early and I have had a chance to relax and enjoy some quiet. I can't tell you how much more I have appreciated my sweet baby boy. I pay a little extra attention to his cries and laugh with him when he finds something funny. We've had some extended play time and lots of open-mouthed (on his part) kisses that result in bear hugs (on my part). Kelby and I have coaxed him into standing for us and, by gosh, I think he's getting the hang of it! Those knees are still firmly locked so who knows when we'll get some legitimate steps out of him but it is so thrilling to watch him stand there and clap at his accomplishment.

Due to my growing appreciation for the gift of motherhood, I've tried to capture some extra special moments when my heart swoons at the sights of domestic, parental bliss.
Is this thing on?

Don't you just want to eathimup?

My rockstar husband and the apple of our eyes.

God is good.

These days, the little things are the big things. Friends offering us dinners or ice cream. Cards in the mail. A clean kitchen curteousy of mi amor. A chance to nap while others tend to Max. A baby laying his head on your shoulder. These really are the big things in life. I hope I never get caught up in anything else.
