Celebrating 100 years...

OF BIRTHDAYS!

The fun level was cranked to maximum voltage last weekend. The hubs, babes, and I took one of our famous-less-than-24-hour road trips to Kansas City for our niece Brooklyn Rose's first birthday party.
She had some awesome pink frosting which stuck with her the rest of the morning.
Happy birthday Baby B!
Max overtook Brooklyn's presents and, like a good 2nd child, she didn't even mind. :)
Grandma and Grandpa Becker had just gotten home from Ireland.
Brooklyn = precious; Max = all tummy

Kelby is a chick magnet.
Max and Jackson played ball for as long as their attention spans would allow.
And these precious shirts were the party favors
The night before two of my awesome girlfriends, Elizabeth and Erin took me out for my first night out since...probably my bachelorette party. At first I felt as rigid as Carrie Nation in an Irish pub

but after some time and one tempting, toe-tapping, hip hop song I was kickin' it (HA!) like the good ole days. To be completely honest though, those "ole" days didn't really exist much for me, not in that respect at least. Still I had a blast with the E's and am so grateful for the good time!

...missing transition...

After the little 1st birthday party, we came a hoppin' back to Newton, America for my Vam Vam's 99th birthday blowout. And a blowout it was! My grandma and grandpa Hickerson hosted the 75+ guests in their backyard and, despite the scorching temps, it was a lovely evening of family and friends. Vam Vam has lived 4 of my lifetimes and is still living on her own in the same house she's lived in for the past 75 years. It's such a blessing to be a member of her family. Happy 99th birthday Vam Vam!

  1. Carrie Nation? Bahaha... You haven't lost your touch - you've still got top notch dance moves! So good to see you :)
